Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Melo about the use of the Melo mobile application and the related website (together the “Service”). By creating an account you accept these Terms and confirm that you have read the Privacy Policy.
2. Definitions
- User, you: a natural person who uses the Service to look for work.
- Job posting: an advertisement for a job, shift or project shown in the Service. Postings come from third-party job providers (“Providers”) or, in the partner programme, directly from employers.
- Employer: the company or person who published a job posting.
- Melo assistant: the feature that turns a sentence you type into a job search using automated (AI) processing.
- Consumer: a user who acts outside their trade, business or profession (Civil Code 8:1 § (1) 3.).
3. What the Service does
The Service collects job postings from Providers and shows them in one place; lets you search them by filters or by describing the job in your own words; lets you save postings and keep track of the ones you applied to; and later shows you anonymous, aggregated or consented success stories on its start screen. The Service is an information and search tool. It does not mediate employment, does not conclude contracts on your behalf and does not guarantee that you will be hired.
4. Your account
You can create an account with an e-mail address and password or with a Google login. You must give true information and keep it up to date. You must be at least 16 years old; if you are younger, please do not create an account. One person may have one account, and the account is personal: do not share your login details, and tell us at once if you think somebody else is using your account. You are responsible for activity under your account until you report misuse to us.
5. Job postings and third-party content
Job postings are created by Employers and transmitted to us by Providers. We display their title, a short preview and a link to the original posting. We do not verify postings and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, lawfulness or availability; a posting may be changed or withdrawn at any time by its Employer or Provider, in which case links in the Service may stop working. If you see a posting that appears fraudulent, discriminatory or otherwise unlawful, please let us know at support@mymelo.ai, and we will remove it from the Service where we can.
Links to third-party websites are provided for your convenience. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, which apply when you use them.
6. Applying for jobs
In the current version of the Service you apply on the Employer’s or the Provider’s own website. The Service opens that website and, with your confirmation, records in your Applications list that you applied. Any data you enter on the Employer’s or Provider’s site is handled by them, not by us. We may later ask you, in the app, how an application went; answering is voluntary.
7. Melo assistant
When you use the Melo assistant, the text you type is processed by an automated language model to extract search filters (such as job title, location, hours and pay). The result is a search, not advice. The assistant can misunderstand a request; the filters it chose are always shown to you so that you can correct them. Do not type personal data about other people or sensitive data about yourself into the assistant; it only needs a description of the job you want.
8. Fees
The Service is currently free of charge for Users. If we introduce paid features in the future, they will be clearly marked, their price and conditions will be shown before you buy, and you will be able to keep using the free features without buying anything.
9. Your conduct
When using the Service you must not:
- copy, scrape, crawl, mirror, store in bulk or resell job postings or any other data from the Service, by hand or with software;
- reverse engineer, decompile, interfere with or overload the Service, its APIs or its security measures;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to send spam, or to harass anybody;
- upload or type content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, pornographic or that infringes anybody’s rights;
- impersonate another person or create accounts for other people without their permission.
10. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, design, trademarks (including “Melo” and “MYMELO”), texts and graphics are owned by Melo or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on your own device for its intended purpose. Job postings remain the property of their Employers and Providers. Anything you type into the Service (for example a search request or a problem report) stays yours; you grant us the right to use it to run and improve the Service.
Some illustrations in the Service and on our website (for example photos of people and workplaces) are generated with artificial intelligence. They are illustrations only and do not depict real persons, employers or job postings unless expressly stated.
11. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, add or remove features, interrupt the Service for maintenance, or stop the Service altogether. Where a change materially reduces what the Service does for you, we will inform you in the app in advance where reasonably possible.
12. Liability
We are liable for damage caused intentionally, and for damage to life, physical integrity or health, without limitation. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage, loss of income or lost opportunities, for the content or availability of job postings or third-party sites, for decisions of Employers, or for damage caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that consumer protection law grants you and that cannot be excluded by contract.
13. Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Help & support → Delete account). We may suspend or delete an account, with notice where possible, if it breaches these Terms, if it has been inactive for more than 24 months, or if we are required to do so by law. Sections 9, 10, 12 and 15 survive termination.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will publish the new version on this page and in the app with a new version number and date, and for material changes we will ask you to accept them again in the app before you continue. If you do not accept, you can stop using the Service and delete your account.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you are a consumer living in another EU member state, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country. Please contact us first with any complaint; we aim to reply within 30 days. As a consumer you may also turn to the Budapest Conciliation Board (Budapesti Békéltető Testület, 1016 Budapest, Krisztina krt. 99., bekelteto.testulet@bkik.hu, www.bekeltet.bkik.hu) or the conciliation board competent for your place of residence, to the consumer protection authority (the government office competent for your residence), or to the EU online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Courts of Hungary have jurisdiction over disputes that are not resolved otherwise, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rules.
